The Naval Base and Chain Ferries at Torpoint Oct 19

Torpoint is a town found in Cornwall located on the Rame Peninsula. Torpoint is very close to Plymouth and it is possible to travel between the two on the Torpoint ferry. The ferryboats are propelled by pulling on chains and takes about 7 minutes. Torpoint was developed in the 18th century. It was originally a naval base that became a town in the 19th century. The first ferry began in 1791.
